End of week 5... and unwell! 😞

The week had started off okay.  Monday came and went out at lunch to get a few things.  Am working from home, basically in self isolation. Tuesday, no issue.  Then Wednesday morning and something didn’t feel right.  Before I get into that though I want to share some of the positives for the week... Survived another week working from home Got my arm hula hoops and love them! Went out to get my favourite drink, Morello Cherry 🍒 Lemonade, which is sugar free and usually sells for 50p a bottle, and when self scanning them noticed that instead of getting 2 for £1, it was ringing up at 25p. So the £4 I had decided to spend on drinks got me 16 bottles instead of 8!?   I am not complaining, that’s for sure! My mother and Dave surprised me yesterday and brought me flowers and homemade soup when they picked up my prescription for me The prescription left me wondering if my math skills have been affected by how I am feeling... This week was supposed to ...

Getting more active... Tracking band, apps, and hula hoops!

Getting more active is not easy right now for me.  I cannot walk or stand for very long without pain. I love swimming but it is not always very easy to get out and go. I got the Honor 5 Band because I needed something to track how active I am including when I swim, but most trackers - like the Apple Watch or Fitbit - made for swimming are very expensive.  After quite a bit of research I discovered 2 that looked promising - the Moov and the Honor 5 Band. According to my research: The Moov is a tracker and training band that does not have a display.  It is a round disc that can be put in a wrist band, ankle band, head band, etc.  People complained that the disc is so light weight that they never realised they actually lost it.  It was available on Amazon for £45. The Honor 5 Band has a display, and can receive notifications from phone (and social media), record workouts and track steps.  It is made by Huawei and cost £30 on Amazon. This is f...

End of Week 4

So celebrated success yesterday at MyWW... I started this journey before weighing in at a MyWW meeting and so they only know about the weight I have lost since I joined, yesterday they recorded another pound lost which brought me to 7.5 lbs It has been challenging this week as I have worked from home all week due to COVID-19 and really did not leave the flat. I got this new activity tracker band, the Honor 5 Band made by Huawei, and was shocked to see the difference in my movements between weekends and weekdays (can be as much as 4x difference). I need to find ways during the week to get my activity levels up more.  However, I still lost this week and so will be adding another £1 to my £’s for lbs bottle! Am about to go and test my new tracking band at the pool, but have lost my swim buddy as fears of COVID-19 become more and more pronounced in the communities.  I am going today, but not sure whether I will continue, although it is one of the few w...

Week 3: £s for lbs

End of Week 3... Thought I would try something a little different... Have had a good week... Made lots of good choices... And so decided to find another way to motivate and reward myself... so transformed an ordinary (well, charity supporting) water bottle into a money bank.  So each time I lose lbs, I add £s! (Whole pounds only!) And so onto Week 4...

End of Week 2

It is Sunday, the end of week 2.  I finished my first week of My WW and weighed in yesterday.  Last Saturday I was 21 stone 8lbs and this Saturday I was 21 stone 5lbs... so lost 3lbs. This week, I have: been trying to eat smarter,  cut out a lot of my carbs and replaced them with fruit or veg,  stopped drinking calorie-filled drinks,  tried to be a bit more active.   So did something right, I guess.  Now let me see if it can be sustained. I will say that some days this week, I had a lot of Smart Points left over each day... so not sure if I am eating enough to fully fuel my body and most efficiently burn calories?  Today, I ate almost all my points... so will see how that goes. Lenny seems to be fascinated with things like oranges when he finds them, so got him some “healthy food” cat toys so he and Willow can be involved and supportive. Bring on Week 3!  (Soup for lunch made today - a beef and barley-type soup ...
