Week 3: £s for lbs

End of Week 3...
Thought I would try something a little different...

Have had a good week...

Made lots of good choices...

And so decided to find another way to motivate and reward myself... so transformed an ordinary (well, charity supporting) water bottle into a money bank.  So each time I lose lbs, I add £s! (Whole pounds only!)

And so onto Week 4...

End of Week 4

So celebrated success yesterday at MyWW... I started this journey before weighing in at a MyWW meeting and so they only know about the weight I have lost since I joined, yesterday they recorded another pound lost which brought me to 7.5 lbs It has been challenging this week as I have worked from home all week due to COVID-19 and really did not leave the flat. I got this new activity tracker band, the Honor 5 Band made by Huawei, and was shocked to see the difference in my movements between weekends and weekdays (can be as much as 4x difference). I need to find ways during the week to get my activity levels up more.  However, I still lost this week and so will be adding another £1 to my £’s for lbs bottle! Am about to go and test my new tracking band at the pool, but have lost my swim buddy as fears of COVID-19 become more and more pronounced in the communities.  I am going today, but not sure whether I will continue, although it is one of the few w...

One week ends, and a new one just begun (a.k.a. Week 2)

This weekend was a bit varied.  I ended up being quite stressed. I worked quite a bit.  I visited with friends, I spent time with family. I got little sleep... and I went to my first meeting.  I may have mentioned in an early post (or maybe not) that I was referred back to weight management by my doctors surgery and so have 12 weeks of meetings free.  However, what I learned on Saturday morning was that they no longer want to be called Weight Watchers, now going by My WW.  The meeting was very enlightening... I came to find a group of people who were aligned well with what I am doing.  They now have 3 pillars behind their focus - Diet, Activity, and Mindset.  They emphasised that the word “diet” is not about losing weight, but what you eat and how much.  They talked about not making huge changes but small sustainable ones.  They discussed NSV - non- scale victories, as in going to a meeting, making a good choice, feeling good about yourself, ...

End of Week 2

It is Sunday, the end of week 2.  I finished my first week of My WW and weighed in yesterday.  Last Saturday I was 21 stone 8lbs and this Saturday I was 21 stone 5lbs... so lost 3lbs. This week, I have: been trying to eat smarter,  cut out a lot of my carbs and replaced them with fruit or veg,  stopped drinking calorie-filled drinks,  tried to be a bit more active.   So did something right, I guess.  Now let me see if it can be sustained. I will say that some days this week, I had a lot of Smart Points left over each day... so not sure if I am eating enough to fully fuel my body and most efficiently burn calories?  Today, I ate almost all my points... so will see how that goes. Lenny seems to be fascinated with things like oranges when he finds them, so got him some “healthy food” cat toys so he and Willow can be involved and supportive. Bring on Week 3!  (Soup for lunch made today - a beef and barley-type soup ...
